Revival

A message from Brigid ....

I have been a blogger since 2005. At the height of my blogging busy-ness, I had "a small stable" of blogs on different topics: social and political commentary; desert spirituality; food; waste and ....

A few years ago I called time and ceased blogging altogether - although there was an occasional post. I had called it quits. I am an aged woman these days with a couple of serious illnesses. I am not allowed to drive. I am no longer active in organisations. I think it fair to say that I am housebound. I am active on Facebook, although I am not there as often as once I was. I have decided to embark on a re-entry into the blogging world ... beginning with The Trad Pad and, possibly, a return to my food blog, Oz Tucker. I have always used a lot of photographs on my blogs ... and I miss not being out and about with my camera.

The Trad Pad has been my blog for the lovely things of life. The controversial or political has seldom intruded. Occasionally, the spiritual has found its way in, but I kept spirituality for the blog, Desert. I don't yet know if I will revive that. I will stick pretty much to food and the lovely things of life. If I have some regularity with those two categories, I feel that I will be doing well. I hope that, with this blog new friendships can be formed and old friendships renewed; new lovelies discovered; new reflections can enter into the meaning of modern life. I would love to hear from you - particularly if you have suggestions for new topics to enter into the conversation. So, it is a new year. Let's see what it has in store, what it can bring to us. And I hope that those who share the spirit of The Trad Pad can spread the message of a world of beauty, the creativity of humanity, and the joys of simplicity and tradition. ~~~ February, 2017

Khaki is a cacky colour!

Jenny over at Chalk + Talk gave directions for the Spacefem Color Quiz and I went over and did it. There were lots of boxes to tick in quiz and I seemed to fill about three-quarters of them. I have no argument with the text that came out the other end. Pretty accurate! But the colour! Khaki!?! For a pacifist like moi?!
And apparently red and green have something to do with it. Oooohhh!
Red has never been included in my colours. When I was growing up the wisdom was that redheads didn't wear red. That has never bothered the redheaded Herself. If it is a red she likes, she wears it. As for green. Well my mother, Phyllis, always said she liked any colour so long as it was green. So there was always lots of green in my wardrobe when I was growing up: Phyllis's preference and it supposedly looked great on redheads! So, guess what? I'm over green - well and truly over green although it still intrudes! So red, green and khaki! Why not a lovely lavender or mauve, a pale cream tinged apricot, or a rich antique creamy beige?

YOU ARE KHAKI#F0E68C

Your dominant hues are red and green, so you're definitely not afraid to get in and stir things up. You have no time for most people's concerns, you'd rather analyze with your head than be held back by some random "gut feeling".Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan.Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

Miss E's unique eaglet name

Gina, did this quiz. Pop over and check her result. Gina seems to think she will be able to do a little bit of blame shifting. No such luck for Miss Eagle, dear Reader. As you and I always knew, Miss Eagle is quite unique - well, almost! The site claims that there are 301,758,144 people in the U.S. Wow! And only one has my name! Miss Eagle tried out her maiden name, the name she had as a young eaglet! And guess what - there is no one in the whole USA - no one person in all those 301, 758, 144 people - with my name. Wow! When you google my eaglet name, I am the only one who comes up - with the except of someone who was married in 1896. Howzat! How ever with the name Miss Eagle got from the dear departed Dearly Beloved, a lot of google space is devoted to an actor whose work Miss E has never seen.
So, dear Reader, should Miss Eagle - in this age of identity fraud - resort to her rather unique eaglet name? What do you think? Please let me know

Tap dancing to May

More Fun Quizzes at QuizPox.com

Over at Two Homes, Patty decided she needed a distraction while doing wonders for her new Art Room. So she takes the blame/credit for referral to this quiz site. Please keep up those prayers and hugs so that come May 25th, Miss Eagle will not only fly but have a decent tap dance in her.
