There are actors Miss Eagle lusts after - like Sean Connery. There are actors who cheer and enchant her - like Martin Clunes and Nigel Havers. There are the young and the beautiful who stun the ageing Miss Eagle - like Johnny Depp. And then there is the category of sheer delight: delight in his skill, delight in his characterization, delight in his diversity of roles and delight in such wonders being wrapped in an ordinary and seemingly unchangeable bloke. This is the beloved Timothy Spall. The pleasure he has given is beyond measure.

My dad was in a film with Timothy Spall a couple of years ago (no, not Harry Potter unfortunately. It was "Gettin' Square") and he reports that Mr Spall is a charmer and delightful gentleman.

Now, Suse - I think I missed that one. How did I manage that when it had Diver Dan in it as well - who makes me tingle?! Thanks for telling me about your Day. I'd love to hear more about what he does in film. One of my great ambitions in life before I shuffle off the mortal coil is to work on a movie - continuity girl preferably but tea lady if there is nothing else going. It's in the blood, sort of - a couple of great uncles who were entrepreneurs/ movie producers and the Carrolls in the picture theatre company, Birch Carroll & Coyle, back in the archives of Australian film and an aunt who was a radio scriptwriter in the heyday of radio serials and radio plays. When her great friend Gwenny Meredith got sick of writing "Blue Hills" and needed a bit of a break, my Aunty Molly aka as Kathleen Carroll used to step in and write a few episodes of "Blue Hills". But me - I just loves me movies.
